Asheville VegFest = Vegan Heaven

The Asheville VegFest, put on by the Asheville Vegan Society, was held in Pack Square Park in downtown Asheville on Saturday, May 15th. The weather was perfect, there were vegan companies, vegan authors, and vegan food vendors galore, and the smells of deliciousness were wafting all over town. The festival goers were enthusiastic and, even if they weren't vegan, they were interested in living a more healthful lifestyle. People stopped by, said hi, tried some of our vegan, gluten-free, and organic granola, granola bars, protein bars, and trail cookies and took PLENTY home with them. There's a reason why Asheville is called Foodtopia! Happy-Go-Lucky Foods was happy to be a part of such a tremendous event, and Asheville sure is a wonderful place to be. We're already looking forward to next year!

HGL Granola Bars Right to Your Door!

As most of you know, Happy-Go-Lucky Foods has just relocated to The Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. We'll be back to granola baking and hummus making in two shakes of a goat's tail (We live next to a goat farm, so the phrase seemed apropos.), and are working on setting up subscription services for our granola lovers in sunny Florida. Stay tuned for more information, but just know that you'll be able to get all of your favorites without even leaving your house.

Coffee Time, anyone?

Very soon, Happy-Go-Lucky Foods will roll out the new Coffee Time granola bar using Roaming Roaster's locally-roasted beans. Now we just need the perfect flavor pairing! Hazelnut, almond, chocolate? What do you think? What combo gets you buzzed? Let us know!

Coming Soon: Lemon Cream & Strawberry Ginger

Congrats to Lauren and Kathleen for coming up with Happy-Go-Lucky Foods' new Spring granola bar flavors. On May 2nd, Lemon Cream will be available followed by Strawberry Ginger the following week! What's even better is that for those who voted, they get a free bar (sorry, pickup only)!

One or Two?

We're experimenting again and want to know: Is it more fun to have one large granola bar or two smaller bars in a pack? Happy-Go-Lucky Foods has two sizes of bars: 1 oz and 2 oz. The smaller bars are sold at the farmers market, and the larger ones are for shipping and retail. Someone recently suggested that part of the fun of a Twix or Reese's cup is to have two portions. You could have one to keep and one to share or keep two to to yourself. Tell us what you think!

Granola Bars: Not Just for Eating in the Car

A Happy-Go-Lucky Foods' granola bar doesn't just have to be eaten straight up.

Try this:

  • 1 Chocolate Pink Salt granola bar, crumbled
  • 1 cup dairy-free yogurt

Feel free to make it as pretty as a parfait, or keep it simple. For more ideas, try it crumbled over a scoop of coconut milk ice cream or mixed in with your favorite cereal.

Happy-Go-Lucky eating, everyone,
